We are in the first phase of our work: defining the STEM experiment that we are going to conduct in space on RB-10. Here is an initial proposal that we will change according to suggestions that come from any member of the group. Our main objective is to study the effects of radiation on the germination rate and growth of the radish and collard seeds. The pre-flight preparations are:

We will be sending 100 radish seeds and 100 collard seeds that are going to be exposed to radiation. Another set of 100 radish seeds and 100 collards seeds will be also sent with a UVA and UVB radiation protection sheet. The third set of 100 radish seeds and 100 collards seeds will be kept on Earth and they will be used for comparison. When the seeds return from RB-10, we will separate these 100 seeds into groups of 10, with each group sent to a member o this team. When they receive these seeds, this is the experiment that they are going to execute:

Our first deadline date is February 17 (this is not mandatory but advisable): all team members should fo to the Cubes in Space homepage and register themselves. Once registered, take the free course which will give you all the details of out flight RB-10.
Our second deadline date is March 14 when we will send Cubes in Space our Intent to Fly form. We need to have our STEM experiment completely defined by then so, please, send your coments, suggestions and recommendations to haragutchi@gmail.com.
