This project addresses the Sustainable Development Goals number 4 (quality education), 7 (affordable and clean energy), 9 (industry innovation and infrastructure), 10 (reduced inequalities) and 17 (partnership for the goals).
There are several regions in our planet where lack of infrastructure results in poor environments for its population. Our project focus on a simple solution that can bring infrastructure benefits to these locations and, at the same time, provide the local students with technology that they can learn and use in their future.
We plan to provide rechargeable LED lamps with solar panels that they can use not only to get a better study environment when their electricity is out but also provide them knowledge on how renewable energy can be used.
To be successful in a worldwide scale, we partnered with schools that focus in students with special needs and students with less resources in the US, Brazil, Ghana and the Philippines. From the students with special needs in the US to the “favelas” or shanty towns in Brazil to the poor regions in Ghana to the natural disaster affected students in the Philippines, we are aiming to lower the inequalities, provide better education resources and educate on innovation and clean energy.
